How long does the group tour last every year?

Mid-April through to Mid Janury

However, you may ask the possibility during raining seasons in late July, August, and mid-September

Because of the road condition in accordance with whether it snows or not for the sake of safe journey, and because of degree of how cold it is, this tour program can be operated

in the other months except the periods of late January to the end of March when it is often snowing or the coldest days. However, some times even in the other months tourists cannot go either because of the continuing days of rains which causes road collapse or flooded. This kind of circumstance seldom happens and it is quickly to get recovery when tourist season.

Physical Requirements
This adventure is not appropriate for those tourists who
1. Have already caught a cold
2. Have pneumonia or tuberculosis
3. Have severe heart-attack risk or high blood pressure
4. Those who require wheelchairs or other mobility aids
And any tourist who can’t endure a lengthy vehicle ride, which may last as long as 9 hours (max.) with rest stops included along the way.

Identity
As a regulation travel agency we can’t supply tourist services for the following clients.
1. Government officers or officials
2. Ambassadors or the clients who hold diplomatic passports
3. Journalists or reporters

Transportation
The vehicle used for the trip may or may not be air-conditioned, but due to the unique Tibetan climate it is unlikely air-condition will be needed. Also, because group size will vary the vehicle may be a van, Landcruiser, or mini-bus.

Oxygen
Due to the high altitude you may need oxygen if you feel uncomfortable or have altitude sickness, especially those whose stay is shorter than 7 days. In this situation, you may tell us your needs in advance, and pay the surcharge. Please read over our information concerning Altitude Sickness.

Accommodations
Three star standard hotels, except around Mt. Everest where only local guesthouses are available. There is no shower at the Ronghpu Monastery Guesthouse.

Meals
Meals are provided when access to local foods is limited, such as around Mt. Everest Base Camp. In the cities and villages we give you the opportunity to choose where you dine.

Group tour regulations
Since it is a group tour and the activity for the whole group can be conducted once, we ask that you arrive on time for all departures from sites. Important- Please read the following prior to your departure

1. We cannot refund all or part of the tour fee due to your own causes. Also, we cannot change the set itinerary menu to others. For those places listed as optional you will be responsible for all costs.
2. While in Tibet, you must strictly abide by the regulations of the Tibet Tourism Bureau: you cannot go to places or sites which are not written in the Tibet permit. Otherwise, it is illegal and you will be fully responsible for any illegal activity

We arrange a local Tibetan English speaking guide for the whole group. But if you cannot understand it, or wish to choose a guide suitable for your language, your personal guide’s fee is your responsibility.

This tour includes all of the best sights, sounds, and smells Tibet has to offer. You could wind your way up through the Potala, join the shuffling, murmuring pilgrims around the shrines of the Jokhang, let yourself be swept around the Barkhor, and be enveloped in the vast expanses of the Tibetan landscape. For centuries, the impassable routes and political upheaval have made Tibet and Everest one of the last great unexplored territories in the world, but this expedition could offer you a chance to see the great Mt. Everest, one of earth’s most remote corners. To view the sunrise and sunset there, you can do nothing but feel marvel for the nature’s masterpiece.

Detailed itinerary:

Day 01:

Arrive in Lhasa (alt. 3600m)
Welcome to the “Roof of the World.” On your arrival to Tibet, we will meet you at the airport or train station and transfer you to the hotel . Plan on taking it slow the rest of today, so you can adjust to the altitude. Remember to drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep for the long journey ahead.

Day 02:

Tour of Lhasa [B]
This morning you’ll wind your way up through the stunning, awe-inspiring Potala Palace. Built in 637 AD by Songtsen Gampo, it was the former winter residence for the Dalai Lamas and is truly a splendor of Eastern architecture. Next, visit the Jokhang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism, also built in the 7th century on the legendary pond of “Wothang.” Later after lunch, witness the famous debate sessions by the monks at Sera Monastery. And finish the day by taking a Kora around the Barkhor. Test your bartering skills with the locals in this push-and-shove economy.

Day 03:

Drive to Shigatse via Gyantse [B]
In the morning you’ll start the drive to Shigatse, via Gyantse on the Southern Friendship Highway. Crossing over the summit of Kamba La (4794 m), you’ll see the tranquil turquoise waters of Lake Yamdrok below; one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet. Far in the distance you’ll spot the towering massif Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191 m), and the staggering Karo-la Glacier (5045 m). Afterwards, you’ll drive to Shigatse, and overnight there.

Day 04:

Tashilumpu Monastery & Drive to Mt. Everest [B]
This morning you’ll have a chance to visit Tashilumpu Monastery, the home of the Panchen Lama, which is essentially a walled town with cobbled and twisting lanes that revolve around a magnificent monastery. Then be driven to Rongbuk Monastery (optional), the highest monastery in the world. This evening you’ll have the intoxicating view of Mt. Everest. Overnight in local guesthouse or tent.

Day 05:

Mt. Everest Base Camp & back to Shigatse [B]
Wake this morning below the stunning north face of Mt. Everest, (8848) the tallest mountain on earth. After breakfast, drive the remaining 8 km to visit Everest Base Camp. Then, drive back to Shigatse, and be wrapped again in the endless vistas of the Tibetan plateau.

Day 06:

Back to Lhasa [B]
You’ll drive back to Lhasa, but don’t worry, you’ll take a slightly different route this morning back to Lhasa. So, sit back and enjoy another full day of breathless mountains under an endless Himalayan sky.

Day 07:

Lhasa & Return Home [B]
Free time in the morning for you to wander around Lhasa. Take a last, memorable look at the Potala Palace before being transported to the airport at 12:00 p.m.

Airport or train station transfer: The free airport pick-up is at 3:20 p.m. and see off is at 12:00 p.m., and train station see off is at 6:30am. These are the most common times in and out of Lhasa, but if you would like to schedule a different time enter/leave Tibet we will be happy to arrange that at the following prices:

Travel Permits: All Tibet traveling permits.

Important Notice:

Prices listed are per person, based on double occupancy. Tour cost in USD is subject to exchange rate of the day you book the tour. (Rate in chart is 1:6.8)

We will charge you for 100USD per person as a deposit for booking the tour, we accept cash, credit card or West Union.

Because you need original copy of the Tibet permits to board the plane, in this way, all the clients in one group who depart from the same city should take the same airplane. So please discuss with us first to fix the flight schedule before you issue the air tickets, sorry for any inconvenience it may cause.
