Ps:Our A Different 8 Days Group Tour to Mt. Everest with train have two different itinerary with Plan A and Plan B which determined by tour start date .Plan A will go to shigatse by road and be back by train (Or by road determined by specific transportation situation) . Plan B is opposite to Plan A however with same of all sightseeing spots and tour package .Pls be prepared with two different plan choice and consult the specific arrangement from your tripadvisor .

Welcome to the "Roof of the World." On your arrival to Tibet, we will meet you at the airport or train station and transfer you to the hotel, after you check in, you could either rest a bit or see the city yourself, get the first impression of this ancient city!

This morning our tour guide will meet you at hotel .You'll wind your way up through the stunning, awe-inspiring Potala Palace,built in 637 AD by Songtsen Gampo, it was the former winter residence for the Dalai Lamas and is truly a splendor of Eastern architecture. After lunch,we will visit the Jokhang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism, also built in the 7th century on the legendary pond of "Wothang." After that you have time to walk around the Bakhor street which is  one of the most devotional circuit as well as crowded central market of Lhasa.During the old days it is the most famous local market but now it is changed to tourist gift shopping center. We'll finish the day by taking a Kora around the Barkhor.

Lhasa escorted tour - Drepung Monastery ,Sera Monastery

Drepung monastery is located at the foot of a holy mountain and was established by Jamyang Choeje (a follower to Songtsen Gonpo) in 1416. It was used to the home of 10,000 monks and it was the center government before fifth dalai lama and then, the government was moved to the famous Potala palace. later on, you can also visit the Nechung monastery which located 1km southeast of Drepung and is the abode of the protector deity pehar and the seat of the state Oracle of Tibet. 

In the afternoon, we will visit Tibet Museum , as Tibet's first museum in the modem sense, the museum of Tibet, situated at the southeastern comer of the Buddhist religious garden Norbulingka in Lhasa, was inaugurated in October 1999 on occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of the Democratic Reforms in Tibet as the product of one of 62 Chinese government funded projects launched in July 1994 in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Autonomous Region of Tibet. Coveting 53,959 square meters.

At around 3:00pm ,we will go on visiting to the Sera monastery which was founded in 1419 by Jamchen Choeje .

Today's activity:Yamdrok lake,Karo-la Glacier

Palkor monastery (Optional)  

In the morning you'll start the drive to Shigatse, via Gyantse on the Southern Friendship Highway. Crossing over the summit of Kamba La (4794 m), you'll see the tranquil turquoise waters of Lake Yamdrok , one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet. Far in the distance you'll spot the towering massif Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191 m), and the staggering Karo-la Glacier (5045 m). Afterwards, you'll drive to Shigatse, and overnight there.

If time available and all group tourist agree ,we will visit Palkor monastery(Optional) in late of afternoon ,this is optional sightseeing according to customer choice . 

Tips: After you arrive in Shigatse, our guide will take your passport to process the PSB permit to Everest Area, it will take few mins (pending the queue at the office), and you may either wait in the vehicle or just walk around. The application could be arranged next morning alternatively.

Shigatse-EBC (5200m), 350km, approx 7-9 hrs Meals:[B] Accommodation: Rongbuk Guest house

We'll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien's travel permit, and then drive to Lhatse. It is a small town where you can take lunch. 

After that, you will drive to Shegar and if the weather is clear enough then on the way down to shegar you will view the Mt, Everest in the distance. On the way, you will pass one of the highest passes in Tibet (pang la pass height 5050m) from there you will view the whole five highest peaks in the world. 

After 4 to 6 hours then you will arrive at Rongbuk monastery ,the highest monastery in the world. 

Today,we will stay overnight at tent or Rongbuk monastery guest house with dormitory bed.

Ps: Tent will be only available from May to Oct according to weather condition

EBC-Shigatse (3900m), 350km, approx 7-9 hrs Meals:[B] Accommodation: Shigatse Manasarovar

Today's activity:

EBC and sunrise , Rongbuk Monastery(Optional)

In the morning, you can see the sunrise appearing on the top of Mt Everest, and have a full view the magnificent Mt. Everest standing like a snow-capped pyramid in front of you at Rongpuk monastery, which is the vantage point for watching Mt. Everest. Then you may trek from tent to Base camp 4km one way(Optional) or go to EBC by local bus.

After visiting base camp, tourists can tour Rongbuk Monastery(optional)which is the highest monastery in the world (5000m) and belongs to Nyingma sect.

After that drive back to Shigatse stay overnight there.

Ps:Sometimes it may not able to see the Mt.Everest clearly due to the weather and climate changes, so please be prepared with all possibilities, specially in July and Aug which is the monsoon season. Sometimes if you can get up earlier in the morning, you will see the peak better, so please make sure that you don't miss any single chance of enjoying the sceneries.

Today's activity:Tashilumpo monastery,skyline train from Shigatse to Lhasa 280km, 3 hrs. (B) 

This morning you'll have a chance to visit Tashilumpu Monastery, the home of the Panchen Lama, which is essentially a walled town with cobbled and twisting lanes that revolve around a magnificent monastery. 

Today we have two possible arrangement based on the group size and transportation situation, you may drive back or take the express train back to Lhasa.If it is train, we will send you to train station, then board the train at 17:30 and arrive Lhasa at 20:32, and enjoy the 3 hours train ride on this recently opened train. The railway line from Lhasa to Shigatse, an extension of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, was put into use on August, 2014. The rail extension starts from the capital city of Lhasa and trail south along the Lhasa River to Doilungdeqen, and Quxu. Then it follows the Brahmaputra River and passes the canyon to reach Nyemo, Rinbung, and finally gets Shigatse. There are 6 railway stations designed between Lhasa & Shigatse on the rail. The average distance between each station is approximately 41 km.

Soon after our arrival our driver will transfer you to our hotel in Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa.

(Please be prepare in mind for these above two possible options and we will try our best to make it as simple and convenient as possible).

Depart from Tibet and see off 

Free time in the morning for you to wander around Lhasa. Take a last, memorable look at the Potala Palace before being transported to the airport at 12:00 p.m.

Service Included

Airport or train station transfer: The free airport pick-up is at 3:20 p.m. and see off is at 12:00 p.m. These are the most common times in and out of Lhasa, but if you would like to schedule a different time enter/leave Tibet we will be happy to arrange for you. Accommodation: 5 nights stay in comfortable 3 star hotels in Tibet ; 2 night stay nearby EBC in tent or guesthouse according to the weather.

Honest Notification

1. Think about whether the Group Tour is what you want, because Group Tour programs and arrangements are just like the set-menu, or a buffet, but not a la carte. This means that if you have special tastes please go to the customized tour. Joining in the Group Tour means that you accept the menus. We, of course, would like you to make the details clear before you book with us at sales@tibettravel.com.

2. Based on point 1, however, if you do not like some of the set-menu, i.e you don’t like the hotels, please let us know before the booking and we can adjust the hotels. Or if we cannot meet your demands we will recommend you go to the customized tour. We design the Group Tour for those who want to save money, or make friends with other group members. Transportation

The vehicle used for the trip may or may not be air-conditioned, but due to the unique Tibetan climate air-conditioner is unlikely needed. Vehicles varies according to the group size into mini van or coach 


Oxygen

Usually the hotels in Lhasa and Shigtase have Oxgen service and also we could prepare the Oxgen for you if needed. Just let us know in advance 


Meals

Only breakfast is provided in this tour. There are restaurants providing good variety of Indian, Tibetan, Chinese, western food… and etc in Lhasa. Feel free to tell your tour guide what you would like to have, and he will give you some good advice. When we tour out of Shigatse, Choices will be limited with the altitude, Sichuan cuisine and Tibetan/ Nepal dishes will be more common along, that snacks such as chocolate bars, dried fruit, candies, beef jerky, and flavored drink mixes are much-appreciated trail treats, especially if you do not get used to the local dishes. 


Group tour regulations

Since it is a group tour and the visit of the sightseeing places will be under unified arrangement. Arriving on time at the fixed departure date everyday is required. Here’s more for you attention before you start the tour: 

1 .No refund if missing the visits due to certain personal reasons 

2. Extra expenses for the optional visit will be paid on your own. 

3. You must strictly abide by the regulations of the Tibet Tourism Bureau while you are in Tibet: you cannot go to places or sites which are not written in the Tibet permit. Otherwise, it is illegal and you will be fully responsible for any illegal activity
