This epic tour is full of everything you’ll need to have an everlasting memory of the unique culture and landscape of Tibet. Witness all of the intriguing sights, tantalizing smells, and vibrant sounds of Lhasa as you fully explore the richness of this holy city. You’ll also drop into the backcountry of Tibet, with a day hike around the crystal theater of Lake Yamdrok. This tour also allows you to explore the historic Tashilunpho Monastery, the breathtaking Ganden Monastery, and the awe-inspiring Kumbum Stupa.

This morning we visit Potala Palace, the highest palace in the world. Afternoon we bid a tour for glistening Jokhang Temple, which has been built for 1400 years. After then, stroll around the bustling bazaar in Barkhor Street, a big market with its prolific stalls for selling specialties. It is the ancient part of Lhasa.
Drive to Gyantse in the morning (270 km and it takes around 4-5 hrs). On the Ganba La (4,796 m) have a fantastic view of the holy lake of Yamdrok Yumtso (4441 m). Upon arrival, have a tour to Pelkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa and then head to Shigatse (90km away, around 2 hours’ driving). You will visit the Tashilumpo monastery which is the main attraction of Shigatse.
Today we drive southward to the highest monastery of the world- Rongbuk Monastery (100km, 2-3 hrs). We are getting closer to Mt. Everest from now on. Taking carriage (self-paid) or hiking up to the base camp, you will have a comparative close view of the highest mountain in world.

Airport or train station transfer: The free airport pick-up is at 3:20 p.m. These are the most common times in and out of Lhasa, but if you would like to schedule a different time enter/leave Tibet we will be happy to arrange that. Please ask your travel consultant for the price.
