DAY 1   Arrival at Lhasa & Acclimation
Upon your arrival at the Lhasa airport or train station, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide and escorted to your hotel in Lhasa. It only takes about a half an hour for the drive from the airport to the city center of Lhasa via the Lhasa-Gonggar Airport Highway. DAY 2   Lhasa Tour - Potala Place, Johkang Temple, Barkor Street
Today we will start off with the fantastic Potala Palace, which historically served as the winter home of the Dalai Lama. It was first used in the 7th century by the 33rd king of Tibet. The most valuable collections in the Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of the former Dalai Lamas and the meditation cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. After lunch, we will move on to the Jokhang Temple, which was also founded in the 7th century by the 33rd great king of Tibet to promote the Buddhist religion. Inside you can see the statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni as he was at the age of twelve – this is perhaps the most venerated object in Tibetan Buddhism. Around the temple is Barkhor Street where you can perform the “Kora” (a religious circuit around a sacred building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals. The Barkhor market is also a great place to pick up locally made handicrafts and souvenirs.

DAY 3   Lhasa Tour - Drepung and Sera Monastery
This morning we will visit the Drepung Monastery – one of the great three Gelug monasteries of Tibet. Founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choge, on Tosngkhapa’s main disciples, the Drepung Monastery is home of Ganden Palace, which formerly served as the Dalai Lama’s palace before later moving on to the Potala Palace. In the afternoon we will move on to see another of the great three of the Gelug monasteries in Tibet – the Sera Monastery. Founded in 1419 by another main disciple of Tsongkhapa, Jamchen Chojey, the main attraction of this monastery is the lively scene of the monks debating Buddhist scriptures in the courtyard behind the monastery in the afternoon.

DAY 5   Bike from Damxung to Namtso (75km)

The most difficult part of today’s ride is the climbing of the Mt. Nagenla Pass with its 5190-meter elevation, but we will have a 4-wheel drive vehicle at the ready to take you and your bike up and over the mountain pass if necessary. After conquering the mountain pass, you will see the sheepherders’ tents, green grasslands, herds of sheep and yaks, and the tents of nomads alongside the road. Finally we will reach the incredibly beautiful Namtso Lake – a heavenly lake known as one of the three holy lakes of Tibet and also as the world’s highest salt lake. Situated at an elevation of 5000 meters, Namtso Lake lies on the highest plateau in the world. We’ll enjoy a memorable stay at the lakeshore tonight.

Hello Amy & Tour team,

Thank you, we have reached home now safety after a wonderful tour of Tibet. I would like to say a few points about the GOOD service that were given to us! Firstly special thank you to Amy for being organized about the tour, telling us first hand about the tour objectives, organized itinerary! We were organized both mentally and physically as all of our doubts regarding this tour were cleared before we left from home to the tour and the information that was provided met exactly what was there on ground. Real happy about that.  Amy followed up day by day on our health conditions, provided us tips and tricks on how to maintain the best of health on such altitudes and it worked, I would say that were taken through the trip by such an ease due to this, KUDOS to Amy!  Talking to Amy all these days, now she has become a good friend on WhatsApp! :) Even though I have not had an opportunity to meet her in Chengdu yet. I would say that special mention to Lobsong as well, he was an AMAZING tour guide, I have travelled to 6 countries this year, I have not seen anyone as good as he is till now.

Dear David,
This 8 days tour in Tibet is really incredible and unforgettable. Organization of this tour has been perfect and I was very lucky to join a group with a funny young Chinese lady and 4 very pleasant Germans. it is the ideal size of a group for a good We have all really appreciate our guide, Tashi Peida. For his deep knowledge of the Tibetan civilization and religion. his very good English level and above all, his very pleasant company and his permanent smile. He is more than a guide: a friend The timing has been well managed by Taishi to avoid loss of time on road and to arrive on the Everest tent camp in time to enjoy the incredible view of Qomolangma before the sunset. Accommodation is 3 hotels has been perfect everywhere. The only negative point is that we have understood that our driver didn't have the proper licence to drive our minibus. This is the reason why we had a second driver to go through some check points  Regarding your personal service, David. let me give you the same rating than the level of my worry at the beginning of the preparation of this tour: ) : ) Thanks a lot for your patience and your efficiency to obtain my Tibet Visa and a train ticket at the last minute. Great job. I only regret not to have had the pleasure to meet you in Lhasa. Anyhow, take good care my dear friend!
