This enchanting destination has earned the nickname "Switzerland of Tibet" for its resemblance to the scenic landscapes of the Swiss Alps. Travel enthusiasts often refer to it as "Snowy Switzerland" due to its vast, year-round greenery, untouched forests, abundant azaleas adorning the mountains, and the meandering rivers that flow through the region. As a national forest park and a distinguished 5A scenic area, it unveils a kaleidoscope of ever-changing landscapes throughout the day, each more enchanting than the last. Basumtso Lake holds profound spiritual significance for followers of Tibetan Buddhism, particularly those who embrace the Nyingma sect. It is revered as the dwelling place of the sacred spirits of Guru Rinpoche and Gesar King, revered figures woven into the tapestry of Tibetan mythology. The path leading to the lake winds through idyllic valleys and alongside majestic mountains, an awe-inspiring passage that prepares the soul for the breathtaking beauty that awaits.

Upon arrival, surrender to the captivating serenity that envelops the lake, immersing yourself in its tranquil ambiance and celestial charm. A visit to Tashi Island, a small islet nestled within Basumtso Lake, is an absolute must. This sacred haven holds deep significance for Tibetan Buddhists and is home to Tsozong Monastery, a humble yet profoundly meaningful Buddhist sanctuary. With origins dating back to the 17th century, this spiritual haven preserves invaluable relics of the faith. Take a leisurely hike around the island, a path that meanders through spellbinding vistas of the lake and its majestic mountain guardians. As you traverse the island in harmonious synchrony, you will encounter the legendary Peach Embracing Pine, remnants of the ancient water burial platform, and the awe-inspiring "Letter Tree" adorned with naturally formed Tibetan letters on its delicate leaves. It offers the opportunity to experience Tibetan Buddhism up close. The highlight of Sera Monastery is watching the monks' debate, which takes place around 15:00-17:00 (except on Sundays). The debate is an interesting form of exchange, where one monk acts as the questioner, standing while the answerer or group of answerers sit. The standing monk asks questions and slaps his palms and stomps, each action having a special meaning, such as activating wisdom, and are not meant to be aggressive. You will also have the chance to attend prayer ceremonies, visit meditation halls, and learn about the monastic way of life. Hi Amy,

Yes we have arrived, landed yesterday in Cape Town and today went back to the "groove" at work.  I would like to thank you for your outstanding work and let you know how important your help and support has been to us in shaping the itinerary and terms of the trip of our lives.  It is really rare to find such a high level of customer service.  I would like to compliment you also on behalf of my boyfriend as we had an amazing time in Tibet. You have taken the time to assist us from the very beginning and went the extra mile in suggesting ideas for itinerary, providing tips on where to stay and what to do. You have also assisted us with all our crazy inquires,  worries and doubts about visa issuance and time frames on how to get it. The ability to handle that was also outstanding.  We were also very impressed with the excellent level of your English and had no problem at all during our communication, Thanks for everything you have done for us about our Tibet trip!!!

Hello Alex,

I am sorry that it took me so long to give you a feedback, I was pretty busy the recent days weeks and hope you can understand that.
Let's come to the feedback.
Tour guide: The tour guide (Ms. Qimei) was excellent! Her English speaking ability was very good. Additionally, she was welcoming, friendly and could score with profound knowledge about culture, history and environment.
Driver: The driver was all the time friendly and drove according to the rules. we all felt very safe during the trip.
Hotels: The hotels were also well chosen. The breakfast matched the western standard.
Vehicle: The vehicle was overall very comfortable.
Additional comment: Overall, I was very happy with the tour. The only thing, I would have wished for is to have had a detailed itinerary beforehand. Sometimes I was not sure, how exactly the next day was planned.
Best regards, Nweth Sureshkumar

Dear Nancy,

How nice to hear from you! Thanks for your email and yes, I have been back to England since last Thursday after the wonderful trip to Tibet you helped organizing. I hope all is well with you and you have had a “Golden Week” holiday.
Overall the trip was excellent, the tour showed different part of Tibet and had the right balance of supervision and free time in Lhasa especially. Good points were your email contact which was always prompt and informative, helpful and friendly. This helped build trust and confidence in the journey. I also thought highly of the tour guide who showed us around, he was very patient and kind to us, most of all I was impressed by his deep knowledge and genuine belief in Tibetan Buddhism.
That’s all that I can think of at the moment, but I really did want to thank you for a fantastic trip to Tibet, I’m left with wanting to return and see more. It was very thought provoking and I loved it all!
Many thanks again and best wishes!  Kathy

Dear David,
This 8 days tour in Tibet is really incredible and unforgettable. Organization of this tour has been perfect and I was very lucky to join a group with a funny young Chinese lady and 4 very pleasant Germans. it is the ideal size of a group for a good We have all really appreciate our guide, Tashi Peida. For his deep knowledge of the Tibetan civilization and religion. his very good English level and above all, his very pleasant company and his permanent smile. He is more than a guide: a friend The timing has been well managed by Taishi to avoid loss of time on road and to arrive on the Everest tent camp in time to enjoy the incredible view of Qomolangma before the sunset. Accommodation is 3 hotels has been perfect everywhere. The only negative point is that we have understood that our driver didn't have the proper licence to drive our minibus. This is the reason why we had a second driver to go through some check points  Regarding your personal service, David. let me give you the same rating than the level of my worry at the beginning of the preparation of this tour: ) : ) Thanks a lot for your patience and your efficiency to obtain my Tibet Visa and a train ticket at the last minute. Great job. I only regret not to have had the pleasure to meet you in Lhasa. Anyhow, take good care my dear friend!
